Safety and Health Initiatives for All Employees

To ensure the safety and health of all employees and stakeholders, the labor and management are working together at Nikkei Panel System to aim for zero work accidents.
"Be safe!" This greeting encompasses the idea of safety as the top priority when working. It is for employees, colleagues, customers, clients, the community, and most importantly, family, and forms the base of all safety and health activities at the Nippon Light Metal Group.
Through joint safety activities with the labor, management, and affiliates, Nikkei Panel System promotes a variety of initiatives to achieve zero work accidents, including improving the working environment and tasks themselves, as well as transmission of skills and safety awareness.

Making safety checks the top priority at every meeting

As a member of the Nippon Light Metal Group, since 2013, we have started each meeting with a safety and health check to help promote safety awareness. This is not limited to manufacturing sites, rather, the goal is to achieve a higher level of safety in all divisions including development, logistics, construction, and office work by raising awareness of safety. Safety checks are conducted at every meeting, from management conferences to work site briefings, incorporating not only workplace opinions, but feedback from a wider perspective to raise awareness of health and safety.

Building a framework that incorporates an occupational safety and health management system

Conventionally, production plants and installation sites have used individual health and safety management methods. To build a common framework for plants and construction sites that incorporates an occupational safety and health management system, Nikkei Panel System launched the Health and Safety Organization in July 2013.
Since then, we have built a framework that complies with the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's Guidelines on Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems. Based on this, a PDCA cycle is in place to improve safety and health standards with plants and construction sites working together.

Nippon Light Metal HD Method Safety Management System (SMS) certification and activities

Based on the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's Guidelines on Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems, activities for the Nippon Light Metal HD Method Safety Management System (SMS) were conducted during the certification period of October 2014 to September 2015, resulting in certification in December 2015. We are currently training personnel to make further improvements to the system.

Strengthening initiatives for better safety and health standards

For a company that undertakes the entire insulating panel process from manufacturing to installation, ensuring safety at the installation site is absolutely vital. We believe that improving safety standards not only for our employees, but also for the various contractors involved in installation, results in better quality services.
The Nikkei Safety and Health Council, which consists of affiliates engaged in construction tasks, is used at Nikkei Panel System to enhance initiatives for improved safety standards by conducting safety patrols, handling safety and health education, etc.
Also, to promote safety awareness, the Nikkei Safety and Health Council holds regular safety competitions where affiliates that demonstrate superb commitment to health and safety are awarded.

Personnel Training Initiatives

In addition to personnel training programs conducted across the Nippon Light Metal Group, we offer our own unique programs at Nikkei Panel System and work to create an environment where each individual employee can reach their potential.

Level-based training

We conduct the following level-based training programs which cover everyone from young employees to executives, creating a framework that allows staff in any position to gain the necessary knowledge and skills for their jobs.

Diversity and Management Initiatives

Hiring employees regardless of nationality

As a company with locations in Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam, we realize that diversity action is essential.
We do not limit recruiting to locals at our overseas branches, and actively hire foreign nationals in Japan as part of efforts to further drive the globalization of our business.
We also invite employees from our Group company Nikkei Siam (Thailand) to undergo skills training in Japan, helping improve mutual communication and foster a sense of unity in the Group.

Respect for diverse personnel

At Nikkei Panel System, we develop environments that allow everyone to take on the challenge of various positions, regardless of gender.
We are also working to introduce various systems so that anyone can continue working with us at different life stages, including shorter hours for parents, and employment for workers 60 years of age and over (elder employment).
